JSM Appointments’ charges their client (the employer) a placement fee calculated as a percentage of the successful applicant’s gross annual salary package.
We provide HR consulting services and JSM Appointments is not an agent and does not profess to have any form of ownership over candidates presented. The client (employer) is not paying directly for the candidate or a CV, but rather for the engineer recruiting services that we offer.
When a company decides to appoint an engineering professional that has been assessed and referred by JSM Appointments, it has satisfied itself that the placement will deliver outcomes conducive to the growth and success of its business. The placement fee is the client’s recognition of the fact that the features and benefits offered by JSM Appointments have contributed to this outcome.

Engineering Job Applications: If you have applied via our web site you will receive an acknowledgement confirming that we have received you application. Your CV will be assessed against the requirements of the advertised engineering job description and provided that your qualifications and experience meet the minimum criteria specified in the advert a consultant will be in contact with you (normally within 7 days) to discuss your application and, where applicable details about the next stage of the assessment process.. General Engineering Employment Enquiries: Your enquiry will be registered on our system and one of our consultants will be in contact with you normally within 1 – 3 working days. If you have submitted your CV to us your details will be kept active on our engineering recruitment database for up to 3 months so that we can contact you about any suitable opportunities you may be interested in.
Privacy: Engineering career enquiries and engineering job applications to JSM Appointments are treated with complete confidentiality (see our privacy statement). We observe a strict policy of recruiting for and advertising only genuine engineering jobs on behalf of select clients with whom we enjoy an established working relationship.

How does JSM Appointments process my engineering job application?
After submitting your application you can expect to receive an initial response acknowledging receipt. Your application will undergo initial assessment against the required qualifications, skills and experience. When we are satisfied that you meet our client’s minimum selection criteria we will contact you (normally within 7 days) to set up an interview with JSM Appointments and to discuss your application. At that stage we will also inform you how long the selection process is expected to take and outline the process moving forward. Assessment periods vary depending on the type of assignment and number of submissions, but we will endeavour to review your application in as short a time as possible.
Applicants outside of the Perth metropolitan area are generally interviewed by telephone. This may however be followed up by a face-to-face meeting before we are ready to present you to our client. At this stage we may also seek a reference from someone who can comment on your experience and capabilities. We will not contact any of your nominated referees without first getting your explicit approval.
Successful applicants will then be presented to our client. Your JSM Appointments Consultant will facilitate the process right through to the end of the client’s review procedures, and we are always available to provide guidance and assistance to applicants. We go to great lengths to present our candidates in the best possible manner, and you can expect support and coaching leading up to and during your initial discussions with our client.

How does JSM Appointments charge for its payroll, contractor and/or labour hire service?
Contractor Rate: Most contractors will be brought onto the payroll of JSM Appointments (as a JSM Appointments casual employee), where we will manage their fortnightly timesheets, taxation, banking of salaries, provision of superannuation and cover for worker's compensation. Contractors are provided an hourly rate plus 9% superannuation. Clients are charged the contractors gross hourly rate plus a mark up which accounts for insurances and payroll administration.
Commercial Contractors Rate: This is for a contractor that chooses to utilise their own business structure (with ABN) and provides a tax invoice to JSM Appointments for their services. Commercial contractors are responsible for their own taxation (including GST), superannuation and relevant insurances.

How does JSM Appointments guarantee the quality of their candidates after placement with a client?
When a client decides to appoint a candidate that has been referred by JSM Appointments, it has satisfied itself that the placement will deliver outcomes conducive to the growth and success of its business. All appointments placed at full fare are guaranteed for a 6-month period, which includes a refund of 100% of the Placement Fee for the first 3 months of the guarantee period. What happens to my resume if I am not successful with my first job application? Will I be considered for future positions if I’m not successful in my first application?
JSM Appointments invests a significant amount of time and effort on developing enduring professional relationships with our applicants of engineering jobs, as well as professionals seeking engineering career opportunities. The relationship does not end with an unsuccessful job application and your details will be kept active on our engineering recruitment database for up to 3 months so that we can contact you about any suitable opportunities you may be interested in.

Generally immigration and relocation arrangements are made directly by the client (employer). However if required, JSM Appointments can assist through their network of associates to arrange relocation as well as migration visa/work permit applications for our candidates from overseas.
