talent torque®, Launch of JSM Appointments' Engineering Recruitment Newsletter
14 August 2009
Welcome to our first edition of talent torque®!
Brought to you by JSM Appointments talent torque® is the engineering recruitment employment industry newsletter catering for members of the Australian engineering profession as well as employers of professional engineering skills. Its objective is to report on topical issues that can directly impact your engineering career or decisions that you make in relation to managing the talent you employ.
Talent is a word widely used by HR professionals reflecting the strategic nature of the HR management function. It is also worth noting that the word “engineer” is derived from two Latin words “ingenium” and “ingeniator”, and the first word “ingenium” means talent.
The other word “ingeniator” means contriver, and as far as the rest of our newsletter’s name goes this is where the subtleness of our play on words ends. Let’s just say that at JSM Appointments we recognise the strategic importance of human resources management, and we are passionate about our role in promoting the collective force that engineering talent exerts upon the creation of organisational wealth!
Published on bi-monthly basis each edition of talent torque® will include a feature article plus articles covering three regular categories: The Engineering Profession; Economic and Industry Events; HR and Recruitment. We have structured the Newsletter to appeal to job hunters, employees and employers in a way that promotes interaction while catering for their diverse interests. Within reason we may lean toward topics that are controversial to encourage comment and debate.
Comments, Articles and Feedback
We want future editions to include contributions from those that have an interest in the management of, acquisition of and career prospects for engineering professionals and associated skills. Reader’s comments and contributions are encouraged and we will be inviting relevant experts to share their knowledge and wisdom on a range of topics including: the engineering profession; human resources management and recruitment; talent management; career planning and much more.
